The sequence of photos below shows the stages of manufacture, all rigorously carried out by hand: cutting, assembly, application of grosgrain with vinyl glue, application of finishings.
Sewing and taping
The pictures below show the various stages of the workmanship, which is scrupulously handmade:
The frame is wrapped, then the inner lining is sewn, followed by the outer fabric. Finally, the grosgrain is glued on and finished with optional or customised edging and trimmings.
The twisted pleat process (taped) offers a further possibility of creating lampshades by relying on a wide range of fabrics and organdies.
